Welcome to the Education Committee Blog!

The EWB-NY Professionals Chapter Education Committee is hard at work making sure that 2015 will be a productive year.

We are in the planning phase of putting together a networking event that will be similar in scope to last year's EWB-NY and EWB-Northern NJ Professionals networking event at the Google Headquarters. We are targeting spring/summer as a general time frame and will need help drawing it all together!

We've recently formed a valuable connection with an organization called Upwardly Global, which is committed to creating job opportunities for skilled immigrants who live in the United States. They presented at an EWB-NY General Body Meeting in late 2014 and made an impact on the chapter; further cooperation between UpGlo and EWB-NY is in the works.

We are continuing our work with United Neighborhood Houses this year and will be helping with after-school science, technology, engineering, and math programming for city students. Come see us for your chance to help out!

Uncubed NYC is another of EWB-NY's recent GBM presenters. They are an organization connecting high-growth startups with employees looking for unique experience in the tech, design, and business fields. Uncubed has offered EWB-NY the use of their NYC office for meetings - this is a hugely helpful gesture and we thank them for it!

Citizen Schools is looking for volunteers. They partner with public middle schools in under-served communities to expand the learning day with the help of professionals like you. Please consider helping with the upcoming session: Sign up here.

National Engineers Week Kids Day is on Monday February 16 from 11am to 4pm. Lively interactive, hands-on activities will be offered with special demonstrations for kids of all ages. Learn more here.

Stay tuned for more information - and please come out and see us at our next meeting! We are present at the EWB-NY General Body Meetings and also hold meetings of our own. See our events page for more information.
