The EWB-NY Belén project is currently analyzing various alternatives for water conveyance and treatment for a pre-clinic in Belén, Peru. Some water treatment infrastructure has already been installed by the previous team involved with the project. Part of our present plan is deciding to what extent this previously installed infrastructure can continue to be sustainably used, or if a new design is necessary.
Among other things, our decision and design would involve structural engineering analysis, in order to determine what loading could be feasibly applied to the structure of the pre-clinic. So we’re particularly seeking structural engineers, or those with experience in and/or knowledge of structural engineering.
As we conduct our analysis and make our decisions, we continually update and add to the documents that are part of the EWB documentation process, and for that reason, we are also on the look out for members with some interest in technical writing.
Our group meets every Tuesday at Parsons Brinkerhoff, 2nd Floor, One Penn Plaza, at 6:30 PM. Please contact Ronald Ying (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you want to learn more about the Belen project and want to get involved!
